Why the ugly canisters

Alex and Daniel, if you ever wonder why we have the ugly southwestern canisters in the kitchen, here's why.  I was at a garage sale with your great grandmother Billee Nielsen.  She saw the canisters sitting on a table against the building and fell in love with them.  Unfortunately for her, her daughtet had come across some silk flowers and wanted them.  Billee, as was her habot, caved to her daughter's request and bought the flowers, leaving the canisters behind as she only had a limited amount of funds with her.  We went back to Billee's house and dropped her and her daughter off.  I then headed home with grandma Chris.  To get home we had to pass by the garage sale and I insisted that Grandma Chris stop.  I ran up and bought the canisters,  which hadn't moved.  We turned the car around and headed  back to Billee's house, where I ran into the kitchen and unceremoniously deposited them on the counter.  We then headed home to the slund of Billee calling me, grateful that I had acquired them.  She used them on her  counter then when she died, i got Grandma Chris to retrieve them for me, against the protestations of her siblings. They came to us and so they will remain.

Angry Alex's Birthday

Alex wanted an Angry Birds birthday party this year.  Naturally, such a party requires an Angry Birds invitation.  Here's the photo I put together for the card.

Alex didn't, initially, want this on his invitation, but once his friends saw it, I think he was pleased with the direction we went.
